The spirit of patriotism resonated across the Municipal Plaza on June 12, 2026, as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dumarao led a solemn commemoration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day.
The commemorative program spearheaded by Mayor Mateo C. Hachuela and Vice Mayor Gleah B. Rose Hachuela, was highlighted by a traditional Flag Raising and Wreath Laying Ceremony, to honor the sacrifices and bravery of Filipino heroes for the country’s sovereignty.
The Dumarao Philippine National Police (PNP), led by Officer-in-Charge PLT Russel G. Husmalaga, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Dumarao, headed by Acting Municipal Fire Marshal SFO4 Joemar B. Joaquine, standing in formation to pay their respects.
Among those present were members of the Sangguniang Bayan, local Barangay Captains, and department heads along with employees of the LGU.
